Look them in the eye.

I made you a quick video about my thoughts on kindness, generosity and the power of eye contact.

Because really, everyone wants to be seen.

And sometimes, the simple act of witnessing someone — looking them in the eye — says “Hey, I see you.” It’s such a simple gesture, so deeply generous, so deeply loving, and so deeply profound for the person being witnessed.

In this video, I talk about:

  • Why we often choose to avert our gaze, turn away, turn a blind eye to the pain of others.
  • Why we must, we must, we simply must hold our gaze.
  • How “looking them in the eye” could change their lives.

Letting someone be seen could be the difference between them hardening their heart against the pain of feeling alone and invisible vs. having their heart cracked open to the joy of being acknowledged.

It could make all the difference.
